[REC]

Well it's a Spanish horror movie, about a hotel full of zombies.... you know, there have been many horror movies with this theme, or at least with the theme of zombies.... so nothing special, you would say...

But that is a little wrong....

This movie has a special atmosphere and starts pretty interesting... like a document....

So, let's say something more about it...

Plot:
Story follows the reporter Ángela Vidal (Manuela Velasco ) and her cameraman, Pablo, that are making a movie, or a reportage about the life of the firemen for a document movie called While You Sleep....
Well, the firemen receive a call about a trapped woman so they rush forth to help her.... they arrive to the hotel... but here, the woman becomes really aggressive.....
Meanwhile the policemen seal off the building, because of the virus, inside it..... so here it all starts... will the people be able to survive??
Another thing is that the movie is all viewed from a cameraman's view.... he tapes it all and we see what he tapes.....


PS: This movie is followed with the second movie, called REC 2..... it starts a few minutes after the first movie.... but it has not been released yet... so we'll have to wait...

A horribly aggitating movie. The hand held maera made me want to throw up due to induced motion sickness.

I must say that watching it was not the most pleasant experience. I found the storyline to be as bland as the fourth resident evil game. DX

I just hope that 2 will be slightly better.

it was a great movie , the enviroment and sound effects were impressive .
i liked the story since i m love survival and horror genre .

mostly ppl wont like it due to some gruesome scence but for ppl
who like zombies , this movie will be great

Dawn of the dead is much better than this film. I can't imagine even those who love zombie films to like it. Too much is missing. Everything looks cliched.

thats the point it looks different from other zombie types movies .
dawn of the dead has so many sequel, nearly all of them are same dont u agree

Yes but this movie is horribly predictable. Decent horrors like the ring has that uncertainty factor in it that creates fear.

This movie, I saw the ending when I saw the beginning.

well yeah it was sure that how it will end but were u sure what they would find at the attic

I think you should watch it if you like a zombie movies and if you like the idea of being presented the story from the view of one of the people....
So, if you have it, watch it..... I think that you won't waste your time.....

On other side... maybe you don't like this movie Safersin, but you'll at least agree with me (I think), if I say that it's still better than American remake "Quarantine"....

Yes... I concede to that. But if it's horror, watch the Japanese version of the grudge or the ring. Those could make you piss yourself as opposed to this which made me nauseated. DX

You cannot compare Spanish and Japanese horror scene..... of course that I have seen The Ring (even read the book and heard the radio version of it) and I have heard about the Grudge, but have not seen it yet (I'll watch it)....
But Japanese directors are great with atmosphere, idea, actors... they just have that something to make a great horror....

But Spanish horrors are not that great as Japanese, still they are quite good (I think)...
And [Rec] is one of the best new Spanish horrors..... I think.... I have seen some other horrors made in Spain.... and I think that this movie is one of best of them.... of course, we may take Abandoned, Películas para no dormir, etc....

But for me [Rec] will be one of great Spanish horrors.....
